Houston, TX — February 12, 2019 — Representatives from HBW Resources, an integrated strategic consulting and advocacy firm, and Wexford Strategies, a government affairs and issue advocacy firm, announced this week that they would formally be incorporating Wexford Strategies into HBW Resources to expand services and offer more distinct client solutions in the areas of policy, advocacy and government affairs.

While the two firms have been working as strategic partners — helping clients across energy, transportation, and business — through their incorporation, the two firms could focus more on expanding their client base and work to bring additional focus and attention to strategic areas.

Through the incorporation, Wexford Strategies will bring in:

  • Kevin Doyle, former Managing Partner at Wexford Strategies, the former Florida State Director for U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and current Board Member for CareerSource Florida, the state’s workforce development agency. Doyle will become Vice President for State Affairs at HBW Resources.
  • Makayla Buchanan, former Government Affairs and Communications Coordinator and Government Affairs Associate at Wexford Strategies, where she focused on technology, veterans’ affairs, and energy policy. In her new role at HBW Resources, Buchanan will serve as Government Affairs and Digital Media Coordinator. She will focus her work on Georgia and Florida.

HBW Resources will also be bringing on two new hires:

  • Wyatt Boutwell, a former Chief Executive Officer of a Kansas-based hydro-excavation company who has significant experience in regulatory compliance throughout the oilfield services industry. Boutwell will be joining HBW Resources as the Vice President of Policy, Regulatory Affairs, and Campaigns.
  • Rachel Edwards, former Southeast Texas Regional Director for Ted Cruz and Assistant Account Manager for marketing and communications firm Young & Rubicam. Edwards will join HBW Resources as the Manager of Communications.

“We are pleased to announce that Wexford Strategies will be joining HBW Resources as we continue to expand our offerings and bring a higher level of service and focus in the key areas of our business,” David Holt, HBW Resources’ Managing Partner, said. “HBW has always worked hard to help our clients achieve their goals through strategic planning. With the addition of these four individuals, we believe we can provide additional support to our clients in the Southeast, and nationally.”

Through the addition of Doyle, Buchannan, Boutwell, and Edwards, HBW Resources will be able to advance and significantly improve their already full breadth of offerings which include business development, public policy advocacy, government relations, public relations, strategic communications, public affairs, and issue management services. The incorporation will help both firms expand these offerings to provide increased client support.

“After several years of strategic partnership, incorporating Wexford Strategies with HBW Resources serves as a value add for each of our firms existing client base and allows our two firms to bring an increased focus and concentration to our day-to-day business offerings,” Kevin Doyle, Wexford Strategies’ Managing Partner. said. “Understanding that business crosses multiple state lines, our firms’ combined expertise and talent will be a real asset to new and existing clients. We’re looking forward to and are excited to join the team at HBW Resources.”
