New York State Split on Fracking

A Quinnipiac Poll finds “44 percent support drilling because of economic benefits and 45 percent oppose drilling because of environmental concerns.”  Voters were less decisive in characterizing Gov. Cuomo’s multi-year review of fracking regulations, 38 percent of voters agree Gov. Cuomo is “dragging his feet” while 23 percent agree he is “carefully evaluating the issue.”  The May 14-19th poll finds regionally New Yorkers are split on fracking with strong pockets of opposition found in New York City and its nearby suburbs.  Read more from Quinnipiac University.
