According to the announcement, the purpose of the meeting is to provide input on the National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center (NCCWSC) Science Plan and national science priorities; learn about NCCWSC’s science and stakeholder engagement efforts; review, provide input on, and achieve a level of consensus on draft Committee recommendations and a report to the Interior Secretary; and review and update the Committee’s 2014-15 work plan.

The 25-member Committee, comprised of government, NGO, academic, and private sector representatives, was established in May 2013 and is tasked with providing advice on matters related to the creation and operations of NCCWSC and the DOI Climate Science Centers.
