Burns, NY Delays Fracking Vote

The Burns, New York Town Board delayed a decision on a potential fracking ban after a councilmember raised questions about the presence of an outside attorney at the Town Board hearing on Thursday. Attorney David Slottje, who specializes in fracking issues, was in attendance and advised the Board to withhold comments during the public hearing.

Councilwoman Dianne Freiner “took exception” to Slottje’s council and “insisted on having the town attorney in attendance before she would make a decision on a fracking ban and suggested the board hold a public hearing at Canaseraga Central School before the next scheduled meeting on Dec. 11,” according to the Evening Tribune.
